Kaleb Williams of Bloom Township HS is the March Athlete of the Month for his double performance at the 3/17 Armer Invitational...Kaleb posted the fastest 400 meter in the state with a time of 49.78. Later that day, Kaleb also ran the 200 meter in 22.53 for the 3rd fastest time in the State.
The WFF’s March Athlete of the Month is Claire Kieger of Whitney Young. Claire ran 25.13 in the 200 meter and a leg of their 4th place 4x200 at the 3/24 IPIT Classic. Claire’s 200 meter time is the 4th fastest time in the state.
Jacob Hernandez of Bloom Township High School is the WFF February Athlete of the Month. The Bloom senior posted personal records in three events: 2:05 800, 4:27 1600 and 10:07 3200. Jacob is also performing well in the classroom currently earning a 4.0 GPA.
Amanda Seals of Proviso East recorded the 5th best triple jump, 35’ 1.75”, in the state on Feb. 23rd at the Proviso West Quad Meet.
Kenneth is one of the reasons Thornwood is ranked among the best teams in Illinois this season. With a sprint range from the 100 meters to the 800 meters. Kenneth can help his team in several events. In April, the Thunderbird Junior recorded these times: 100: 11.34, 200: 22.22 & 400: 49:07. Kenneth currently has a 3.33 GPA.
LaNae is a strong team leader and a fierce competitor that likes to win. LaNae had April best times in the 100: 12.58 and in the 200: 26.95.
After leading his team to their 2nd consecutive State Championship, Marlon Britton of Leo Catholic HS is our May Athlete of the Month. Marlon anchored LEO’s 4x100 Relay to First place with a time of 42.76 and he placed 2nd in the 100 Mete High Hurdles in 14.69. The LEO Junior currently has a 3.61 GPA.
For her dominating performances in May and for winning the State Championship in the 100 Meter High Hurdles, 14.69, LaDonna Caston has been named the May Athlete of the Month. LaDonna also graduated near the top of her class at Thornton Township HS and has earned a scholarship to Southern Illinois University.
Thornwood’s Reggie Brown is our September Athlete of the Month Winner. The Thunderbird Senior has emerged as a strong team leader that leads by example. He won the Hillcrest Invite (also a Team win) he finished 9th at Argo invite, he finished 5th at Tinley Park invite (Team WIN) and he finished 3rd at Rich Central Invite with a season best 3 mile of 15:58 (Team WIN). Reggie is also doing very well in the classroom: GPA: 3.42/ACT 25 and in college he wants to major in Forensic Science.
DeAsia Garrett of Rich South HS is our September Girls Athlete of the Month for her outstanding cross country performances last month: DeAsia took 1st place at the Tinley Park invitational and 2nd place finishes at the Rich East and Bremen Invitationals. Season best 3.0 mile time: 19:36. Ms Garrett is also a great student, she has a 3.8 GPA/ACT 23...WOW!!!
