The Winged Foot Foundation's February Athlete of the Month is Thornwood's Senior Ebony Stallworth. In only her second meet of the season, Ebony threw the shot put 38' 11" (currently ranked 2nd in the State). Congratulations to Ebony Stallworth.

The Winged Foot Foundation's February Athlete of the Month is Thornridge's Senior Gary Ford. At the season opener meet at Thornton last week, he won the high jump with a 6'6" jump (currently ranked 4th best in State), a 21'11" long jump (currently ranked 5th in State)) and won both hurdles in 7.5 for the lows and 7.4 for the highs (currently ranked 1st in State). Gary recently signed his letter of intent with the University of Illinois. Congratulations to Gary Ford.

Bruce had a prodcutive month athletically, academically and in his community. Bruce made Leo's academic honor roll, was active in a community service project and ranked near the top of Illinois' Class A sprinters.

* Evanston Invite 1st in the 50 4th in the 4 lap relay
* Chicago Catholic League Championships 3rd 55m [6.51 Class A leader ] & 2nd 200m
* IPPT Invite 1st in the 55m, 2nd 200m [ 2nd best time 22.63 in Class A]

At the Illinois Prep Top Times Indoor Track & field , Dominique placed second in the Girls Class AA 55 Meter Dash Finals with a time of 7.18

The WFF April Athlete of the Month is Nate Whittington of Thornton Township HS.  Nate won the shot put at the Lincoln Way North dual meet a with a toss of 57' 11".  A week later at the Lincoln Way West Invitational , Nate improved with a personal best and a new school record of 60' 1". That distance ranked him 3rd in the State in the Shot Put.  The Ohio Dominican University bound senior also is proficient in the Discus as he set a personal best and another new school record with a throw of 169' 10".  Nate is now looking forward to the BIG 3 - Conference, Sectional & State.

As expected, the defending State Champion in the Discus, Jazjuan Wallace-Sipp of Thornton Townhip HS, was dominating the Discus in April.  With throws of 133' 3" , 135' 3" and 140' 2" Jazjuan has served notice that she has every intention of repeating as State Champ.  Jazjuan is also highly ranked in the shot put with a season best of 38' 6", she will be competing for the University of Illinois next year.

Winning 3 Gold Medals, Timothy Faust of Thornton Township HS helped his team earn a 3rd place trophy in the 3A State Meet.  The Thornton senior won the 100 (10.49) and 200 (21.21).  Tim also anchored Thornton’s 4x200 to a victory (1:26.22 - 5th fastest in Illinois State Meet history).

Dominique Kimpel, lead Kankakee to a 4th place team finish in the 2A State Meet.  The Kankakee Senior  won the 100 (11.69 State Record) and 200 (24.10).  Kimpel then anchored Kankakee’s 4th place 4x100 (48.49)and their 4th place 4 x200 (1:42.7).
