The Winged Foot Foundation is a non-profit 501 C 3 charitable organization that has been created exclusively for charitable purposes. The goal of the Winged Foot Foundation is to assist student athletes in the Chicago area by
offering athletic equipment and academic programs to help strengthen the educational & sports activities in their communities.
Imani Carothers of Brooks College Prep. has been named the Winged Foot Foundation’s 2016 Student Athlete of the Year. As a senior, Imani enjoyed a successful indoor season and an even more impressive outdoor campaign posting Personal Records in all of her events. Imani’s most notable performances came at the Illinois State Track Meet where she took 1st place in the 100 M. Hurdles (:13.92), Long Jump (19’5.7”), and Triple Jump (40’075”). Imani has accepted a track scholarship to the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
To benefit Chicago area runners in need, David Botos of the Neuqua Valley High School Cross Country Team organized a shoe donation drive with his teammates and friends in the Naperville area during the Summer. These shoes were then distributed by the WFF to Chicago area cross country teams during the 2015 season.
Clayton completed his outstanding season by winning the Chicago Public League, IHSA 3A Regional and Sectional Championships, and racing to a Runner-Up finish at the State Meet with a personal record 14:22 over the 3 mile course.
The TFN Senior finish 2nd in both the SSC Blue Conference and IHSA 2A Regional meets. At the Sectional Adriana qualified for State with a 12th place finish. At the State Meet she finished 140th place covering the 3 mile course in 19:47.
